Habibi Discussion Group Comment

The discussion over Habibi went better than I had expected. I was the group leader and posed the question “Why does Liyana’s Poppy choose to accept some old Arabic traditions, yet look down upon others?” My group was very honest and along with agreeing with my examples of where this occurs throughout the book they gave examples of how this is an issue of diversity in the real world. I feel that so far my group and I have been communicating well and that we are honest with each other. I am excited to see how the upcoming discussions go.

I am glad to hear this. Do you think there are any ways to improve or deepen your group discussions?
